This is a program for men who want to be strong but are struggling, missing their kids, hoping to rebuild their family, and feeling overwhelmed by the court system—while staying grounded in accountability and safety.
Be the kind of strong your loved ones can trust.
If your anger, control, or violence has put your relationship—or your parenting time—at risk, you’re not alone. Healing the Home offers a structured, court-recognized intervention program designed to help you change patterns that have harmed the people you love.
A Message to Men Who Feel Stuck
You may be carrying a lot right now: shame, fear, anger, confusion, or the pressure to “hold it together.” You may be thinking:
“I want my kids back in my life.”
“I want my family back together, but I don’t know where to start.”
“I’m trying to do what the court wants—why does it feel impossible?”
“I’m not a monster… so why did I act like that?”
If any of that sounds familiar, this page is for you.
Real strength isn’t intimidation. It’s self-control. It’s honesty. It’s accountability. And it’s the ability to create safety—especially for children.
What This Program Is
Healing the Home provides an evidence-based intervention designed to help interrupt the generational cycle of abuse, with over 30 years of certified service to East Tennessee courts and community partners.
The Men’s Group – Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) is a certified psychoeducational program addressing abusive, controlling, and violent behaviors in the context of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).
It may also meet requirements for court-approved anger management when domestic violence is involved.
What You’ll Work On (What Actually Changes Outcomes)
This program helps you move beyond “I just lost my temper” into deeper, lasting change—because courts and families are looking for more than promises. The curriculum includes work on:
Coercive control and power dynamics
Accountability and belief-system change
Anger management and emotional regulation
Healthy communication and conflict resolution
Parenting impacts, including the Caring Dads curriculum
Generational effects of violence on children and families
If you’re thinking, “I just want to see my kids,” we’ll be honest: the fastest way to lose them is to keep repeating the same patterns. The strongest path forward is building safety, predictability, and responsibility—one week at a time.
Important note: We can’t provide legal advice. If you have court questions, we encourage you to speak with your attorney or legal aid. What we can do is support your behavior-change work and provide program documentation aligned with referrals and requirements.
Healing the Home offers structured programming for individuals seeking behavior change.
Recommended session tracks:
12 sessions: Often used for anger-related issues in relationships and may meet requirements for many anger management referrals.
26 sessions: Tennessee’s standard for completion of a certified BIP program; often used for higher-risk cases or multiple offenses and can meet standard court/DCS expectations.
Cost: $30 per 90-minute session
Sliding scale: Available for eligible clients
Healing the Home may also provide: group programming, individual sessions, mental health evaluations, and drug/alcohol use assessments.
